The Aspley Camera Club meets at the Bracken Ridge Community Hall, 77 Bracken St, Bracken Ridge, Qld, 4017 on the first and third Mondays of each month.
Meetings commence at 7:30 pm. All are welcome, whether beginners, experienced photographers or non-photographers. A small entry fee of $4 provides supper and wonderful photographic entertainment.
The meeting venue is part of the council library complex. Well lit, off street parking is available next to the library.
We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.
Competitions are held on the first Monday of each month for print and for digital images. The images are judged by recognised judges who provide helpful feedback and comments to the entrants.
Selected images from our members are entered in competition with other clubs, both locally and internationally.
A guest speaker is arranged for meetings on the third Monday of the month. These briefings provide a glimpse into the work and art of visiting photographers.
Practical workshops or demonstrations of a photographic technique may also be part of the briefing evenings.
The club covers a wide range of formats and subjects. Members use a wide variety of cameras - from the best to the simplest. The image is the end result, not the equipment used.
Outings and activities are held through the year where members may be able to watch others at work.
A newsletter is sent to all members and is displayed on the club website. It informs members what is happening at the club.
The membership fees for the Aspley Camera Club Inc are $45 per annum and cover the period 1 July - 30 June. Associate and Junior member fees are $25 per annum (Junior members must be accompanied). There is a $15.00 joining fee for new members.
If a new member joins after 1 January, only half of the annual membership fee is payable for the current financial period.
A $5 discount is available to all renewing members who pay their fees before the first meeting in July.
