Judging of your entries including the Set Subject “Street Photography”. This is one of the categories in this year’s Peninsular 3-Way Competition.
“Street photography is a non-formalised genre of photography that features subjects in candid situations within public places. It does not require the presence of a street or even the urban environment. Colour and Mono images are acceptable in Street Photography. If the image is not captured at the time, then it might otherwise go unnoticed, and be lost for all time. Images can often be ironic or emotionally detached from subject matter, focusing instead on a particular context or detail. Framing and timing are key aspects of the craft, with the aim of creating images at a decisive or poignant moment. Though people usually feature directly, they may be absent with the image still projecting a decidedly human character through an object or environment. The image should be captured in camera in a single frame, no composites allowed.”
