***Please note the date change – Hall has been booked for a week earlier due to the usual Lecture night booking falling on Easter Monday which is a Public Holiday.
PART A (before Supper) Activities Officer Daryl Fisher is organizing a SELL, SWAP or BUY event. This will be a wonderful opportunity for members to bring along any unwanted, preloved cameras, equipment, books, photo mounts, studio lighting, props, etc. or any other photographic related items to share with other club members. (Any sales and handling of monies will need to be negotiated between individual members). So start cleaning out your stash and bring along your preloved treasures for someone else in the club to access and perhaps put to good use. BE SURE TO LABEL YOUR ITEMS CAREFULLY IF WISHING TO SELL/GIFT/SWAP. (Include your name, price etc.) There will be tables set up for this event for you to access. Should be lots of fun, so come along and hopefully grab a bargain!
PART B: (After Supper) Discussing and demystifying upcoming JUNE Set Subject. Presenter is fellow club member Troy Lum.
Set Subject Definition: Portrait- Showing Mood, Emotion or Drama (Entry Deadline Midnight Monday 9 May)
A photograph of a person or persons that may range from a head study to full body length. This subject includes candid photographs and formal portraits which show some sort of emotion, drama or mood e.g., a couple in a romantic setting, a happy child at Christmas or someone who looks obviously sad or angry etc., or people in a dramatic scene.
About the presenter:
Troy Lum APP is a diploma qualified award-winning photographer, a former Tafe graduate of the year, and Qld student of the year at the Queensland Epson Professional Print Awards.
His love of photography is a lifelong pursuit, starting as a boy with a disposable camera. He traveled extensively throughout Australia and overseas developing an interest in photographing people and places.
Currently residing in beautiful southeast Queensland with his wife and son, He works as a commercial photographer and videographer.
Troy will be talking in club on April 11th about the upcoming set subject of Portraits- Showing Mood, Emotion Or Drama.
