As many clubs are putting their plans together for 2022, I wanted to put a date claimer in your calendar for the River City Print Competition. This competition, which has had its history mainly in SE Queensland, has not been held for a couple of years primarily due to COVID19 restrictions in handling prints and general uncertainty in planning an event of this nature.
Queensland Camera Group has agreed to reinvigorate and host this competition in 2022. We are a club that strongly promotes the print as the final important part of the photographic process and wish to see the art of printing celebrated through this competition. We feel the River City Print Competition should sit proudly beside the Queensland Interclub Competition, which has traditionally been a DPI competition open to all Queensland clubs affiliated with PSQ. Therefore in 2022, the River City Print Competition will be open to all clubs in Queensland who wish to participate, and the competition will take the following form:
1. Categories: Open Colour, Open Monochrome, Nature, Portrait, Non A Grade Open (four prints per club per category)
2. Judging event: Saturday July 30, 1pm to 5pm at Kenmore Hills.
If you wish to attend the Judging you will need to register here https://rcp2022.floktu.com and pay the $10 registration which covers entry and afternoon tea. Get in quick, limited to 50 tickets. Bookings close Wednesday 27th July.
