About this event:
This will be our next coffee morning at Dohles Rocks right beside the Pine River. This is a cafe that was built in the 1950’s and since then has had a facelift on the original building. Across the road , you can go and check out the boat ramp for any coming and going of the local fishing people. You can go for a walk along the forefront to see what images you may find when the tide is out at dead low at 9.30 am.
There is drinks, coffee (of the usual different flavours etc. ) water, soft drinks, you could even go for a mango or banana smoothie or a milk shake even. Snacks consists of Croissants, Toastie, Sausage rolls, Pies, Muffins, Spinach and Ricotta roll, and also just plain old chips in a bag.
This cafe is even dog-friendly and offers an excellent puppycino for your 4 legged friend.
If you would like to wet a line, they have gear and bait available also.
The area behind the shop is open and might be an idea to bring a hat or brolly. Depending on numbers , will advise if a seat is needed. Now, if it rains , sorry can’t help you there.
Just before the boat parking area just before the shop , there is a bird hide of sorts where if you might be lucky to grab a couple of bird shots around the lagoon. A BIG LENS WILL BE BEST. Before the whole area, is OSPREY HOUSE for the environmental side of things and also includes a shop and a bit of a walk around the foreshore, this spot is best for images of the resident Osprey Eagle, again with a big lens as the bird is on top of a high pole. At the moment booked in for 15 members, but again , would be preferred to R.S.V.P. so I can let the shop people know how many members are going to turn up as when I was there this morning , by herself she was run off her feet with the locals coming in, so please help me help you by R.S.V.P. for sure.
