If you wish to know more – visit the Creative Samford Website 2022 Arts Trail – Creative Samford for a copy of the Trails booklet, which lists the wonderful diversity of arts studios and exhibition locations around the Samford Valley. Most will be open for both the Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month of June. If you’d like to get images of artists in their studios, either with their work as possible portrait subjects, or working with materials if set up at the time of your visit, be sure to ask, as most of the artists will be happy to oblige you. Just mention my name (Dianne Hodge) if any issues, as most of the artists know me.
As I am a founding member of Creative Samford and also one of the catalysts for getting the trails off the ground 8 years ago, I can vouch for the wonderful time to be had visiting people’s spaces to view high quality and very creative work. Some of the spaces are shared so you can see more than one artist at the 26 locations if you have limited time. (Eg. The Good Egg Gallery). I’ve been documenting the event photographically every year, however another lady is going to do this for the group this year as I will be away for a portion of the month. Well worth your time to make the effort – perhaps organize an outing with a couple of other members of a lovely day out. The drive across the valley is very enjoyable as mostly rural, and there are a variety of quality coffee stops both in Samford and Dayboro for cuppa breaks.
